Cloud IX, Budapest’s latest extravagant skybar, now welcomes patrons at the ibis & TRIBE Budapest Stadium Hotel in the WING Liberty building. Opened last December, the hotel complex blending two brands of the French hospitality group Accor boasts a total of 332 rooms and a wide range of services at Népliget in Budapest’s District IX, adjacent to the Telekom Campus and Groupama Arena, and near the MVM Dome.

On 15 May, the extravagant, panoramic Cloud IX skybar of the ibis & TRIBE Budapest Stadium Hotel, developed by WING, was inaugurated at a ceremonial event, and now the hotel offers a full range of services to its guests after its soft opening.

Part of WING’s mixed-use development in the Liberty building complex, the ibis & TRIBE Budapest Stadium occupies the top floor of the Könyves Kálmán körút wing, adjacent to office spaces. Liberty is located at the intersection of the Könyves Kálmán körút and Albert Flórián út, at the south-eastern gateway to the city centre from the Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport. Nearby you will find the Groupama Arena, the Telekom Campus, the MVM Dome, and other cultural and sports facilities such as the Palace of Arts, the National Theatre and the Papp László Sports Arena are also within easy reach. Access to the building complex is excellent with the nearby M3 metro and tram line 1, as well as numerous domestic and international bus routes serviced from the continuously developing Népliget station located in Liberty’s immediate vicinity.

The hotel features 332 hotel rooms that are equally shared between the ibis and TRIBE brands: the well-known 3-star ibis values are complemented by the services of the highly successful and innovative 4-star TRIBE brand. The complex includes an all-day à la carte restaurant, a fitness gym, underground car park and accessible rooms. Its conference centre accommodates up to 180 guests and features 5 multifunctional event halls. With its award-winning interior design and exclusive environment, the co-branded hotel is the perfect venue for both corporate and private events.

Aptly named Cloud IX, the skybar is located on the ninth floor of the Liberty building, offering panoramic views of the city. The rooftop bar can seat up to 120 patrons, while its unique interior design, excellent food & beverage selection and TRIBE signature cocktails make it a truly unique destination in Budapest. Cloud IX is open not only to the hotel’s guests but also to the general public, offering a dog-friendly and accessible venue. The skybar can host private events during the day, and between 5pm and 11pm it is a prime spot for sophisticated bites and cocktails.

"As one of the leading real estate firms in Hungary and the region, we are committed to projects that represent high architectural quality and create long-term value. The Liberty reflects our ambition to create a dual-branded hotel with a wide range of services and an outstanding guest experience as part of an internationally acclaimed mixed-use development,” said Noah Steinberg, Chairman and CEO of WING. “We are proud that Hungary’s first TRIBE hotel, the ibis&TRIBE Budapest Stadium located in the complex, was developed here and has been incredibly popular among travellers since its opening in last December. We will continue to expand WING's hotel division, with the next TRIBE hotel set to open in Hungary in 2025, which will add another terminal-adjacent hotel to the Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport", he added.

"We believe that with its unique services and unparalleled location, the ibis & TRIBE Budapest Stadium Hotel is the ideal choice for private and corporate events, business and leisure groups, and after a successful soft opening period, it now offers a full range of services, including a restaurant and café reflecting the TRIBE brand's ‘affordable luxury’ concept, as well as a lounge and conference rooms on the ground floor and the newly opened Cloud IX Skybar. The panoramic rooftop bar is the perfect place to relax above the city or enjoy our special cocktails after work in the spectacular sunset," said Dániel Vetlényi, Director of ibis&TRIBE Budapest Stadium Hotel.

“As one of our key markets in Central and Eastern Europe, Hungary set the perfect location for the first TRIBE property and its growth in the region. Offering a completely new approach to hospitality, ibis & TRIBE Budapest Stadium brought a new vibe to the city’s hotel network. Now, with the addition of Cloud IX Skybar, the landscape elevates the guest experience that fully encapsulates the character of this lifestyle hospitality brand. I am sure this place will set the already successful hotel to new heights”, said Pauline Oster, Vice President Tribe Europe & North Africa at Accor.

Liberty was financed by OTP Bank Nyrt. The construction of Liberty as an energy-efficient, green property also received public funding through the Real Estate Fund sub-programme of the Baross Gábor Capital Programme. As co-investor, the Hungarian Development Bank (MFB) provided funds to the real estate funds that won the Capital Programme’s tender, thereby facilitating increased investment activities, improving energy efficiency and implementing green developments.
