WING among the award winners again at the Portfolio Property Awards

2025-11-06

WING, one of Hungary’s leading real estate development and investment groups, received prestigious recognition in two categories at the 2025 Portfolio Property Awards Gala. The company’s Liget Center Vitrum development was named Office Building of the Year, while its Polish subsidiary’s Resi4Rent transaction earned the title of Foreign Real Estate Investment Transaction of the Year.

Celebrating its 16th edition, the Portfolio Property Awards once again honoured the most outstanding achievements in Hungary’s real estate sector, recognizing top developments and transactions across 19 categories.

The expert jury selected Liget Center Vitrum as “Office Building of the Year”. Situated in Budapest’s 6th district at the junction of Dózsa György Road and Városliget Avenue – opposite the Museum of Ethnography – the Vitrum building offers a modern, elegant, and sustainable workplace in the heart of the city. As the newest addition to the Liget Center complex, Vitrum represents a sophisticated dialogue between architectural heritage and contemporary design.

The six-story, 2,200-square-meter, A+ category boutique office building stands out on the Budapest office market. Its impressive glass façades open onto an inner garden, creating a unique sense of space. The project achieves a remarkable balance between prime location, sustainability, and employee wellbeing.

The Liget Center complex also includes the Classic and Auditorium buildings, both under heritage protection, which underwent a full-scale reconstruction as iconic examples of modern Hungarian architecture. Through this redevelopment, WING has not only preserved architectural value but also created a meaningful dialogue between past and present. In 2024, RTL Hungary established its new news base, studios, and offices in the renovated complex. More recently, the renowned international law firm Wolf Theiss has also chosen the Liget Center as its new headquarters, which it is expected to occupy in early 2026. The newly constructed Vitrum boutique office building enriches the character and functional diversity of the complex even further.

The Liget Center Vitrum was designed by TIBA Architectural Studio, and general construction was carried out by WORKUP, the specialized division of FITOUT Zrt.

In the “Foreign Real Estate Investment Transaction of the Year” category, Echo Group, WING Group’s Polish subsidiary in which it holds a majority stake, achieved an outstanding result. The company sold more than half of its Resi4Rent rental housing platform portfolio in a record-breaking transaction worth approximately HUF 223 billion.

The deal represents the largest transaction in Echo Group’s history and a record-breaking living sector transaction in Poland.

The transaction involved 18 projects comprising a total of 5,322 rental apartments located across six major Polish cities – Warsaw, Kraków, Gdańsk, Wrocław, Łódź, and Poznań. Resi4Rent is Poland’s largest platform dedicated exclusively to rental housing and represents a new model for residential property investments offering stable, long-term returns. The transaction is significant not only for its scale but also for its market impact, further strengthening WING’s international investor position and regional presence in the Central European real estate market.

These two awards reaffirm that WING’s developments and investments stand out for their quality, complexity, and long-term value creation. The company continues to base its development and investment strategy on three key pillars – value preservation, innovation, and sustainability – reinforcing its leading role in both the Hungarian and Central European real estate markets.
